Richard

Richard Wadhams

Director

Richard is at the helm of the firm and has been so for over 25 years. During this time, Richard has gained a wealth of experience across various sectors and strives to deliver the best for his clients. Due to his wealth of experience Richard welcomes meeting and managing new and existing clients allowing him to better understand their needs and in turn tailor our service. Richard has a passion for film, art, music, theatre and cycling.

Michelle Gibbons

Practice Manager

Michelle joined Hogbens Dunphy in mid-2025, bringing over two decades of operational experience in the architectural industry, along with a background in client management within the financial sector. She holds an MA in Design Communications from Central Saint Martins, which complements her ability to support and appreciate our creative client base. Outside of work, Michelle enjoys sourcing and trading in antiques, and is always on the lookout for hidden gems.

Accounts & Business Manager

Darren has over 28 years’ experience managing Accounts teams, preparing management accounts, VAT Returns and self-employed accounts. Darren manages one of the larger teams for Hogbens Dunphy and takes pride in their service provision. He has a witty sense of humour, loves football and is devoted to his wife and three children.

Tom

Tom

Corporate Accounts Manager

Tom has been with Hogbens for over 15 years, heading up the corporate accountancy team and overseeing company accounts, corporation tax, and Companies House compliance. With a degree in mathematics, it’s no surprise that Tom found his way into accountancy. Outside the office, he is a keen fan of music and contemporary art, and can often be found exploring exhibitions and art installations. He is also a committed Spurs supporter — which we try not to hold against him!

Tom has been with Hogbens for over 15 years, heading up the corporate accountancy team and overseeing company accounts, corporation tax, and Companies House compliance. Tax Manager

Raj has over 12 years’ experience working on tax returns and providing income tax advice. Raj currently manages the personal tax department for Hogbens Dunphy. He is an ATT qualified tax technician and is currently pursuing a qualification as a Chartered Tax Advisor. In his spare time Raj attends dance and acting classes, as well as enjoys going to the cinema regularly.

Payroll Manager

Verena has worked at Hogbens Dunphy since 1996 and plays a key role in the management of our client Payroll Bureau. Verena is aptly qualified with a degree in Payroll Management from the Chartered Institute of Payroll Professionals. She also deals with client Company Secretarial matters. In her spare time Verena has a passion for all things equestrian.

Cheryl retired as Practice Manager in July 2025 after 13 years in the role and now works part-time managing the firm’s internal finances. With a career spanning recruitment, HR, finance, and accountancy - Cheryl brings decades of experience to her role. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her friends and family and walking her labrador in the beautiful South Downs near where she lives.

Elena joined Hogbens Dunphy in November 2017 as a Management Accountant. Elena qualified with ACCA in 2011, has a good technical knowledge of VAT and has experience working with a range of accounting software packages. Outside of work, Elena enjoys attending musical and cultural events: concerts, opera, ballet, musicals and art exhibitions. She also enjoys travelling, walking the family’s 3 dogs, hiking and seaside walks.

Sam has worked with Hogbens Dunphy for 11 years. During this time she has qualified as an ACCA Affiliate. Now in this capacity she assists with the preparation of client Statutory Company Accounts. Sam enjoys travelling with her family and anything to do with gastronomy.

Accountant/Client Manager

Veronica is a qualified and experienced accounting professional with a degree in Economic and Business Administration, AAT qualification, and part ACCA qualification which she is currently completing. Veronica has more than 10 years of UK experience in VAT returns, self-employed accounts, and HMRC investigations. Known for a friendly demeanour and willingness to help others, delivering dedicated service to clients and colleagues. Outside of work, enjoys spending time with family, singing, cooking healthy meals, and staying active at the gym.

As the firm’s longest-serving team member, having joined in 1978, she has worked closely with many of our major clients and continues to be a welcoming presence. In addition to her credit control and administrative responsibilities, Sue also supports Richard Wadhams in her role as Personal Assistant. After a busy day, she enjoys relaxing with a glass of fine red wine.

Charlie joined Hogbens Dunphy in 2012 and has progressively expanded his role to oversee the firm’s IT operations. In addition to his technical responsibilities, he continues to build experience in preparing sole trader accounts and VAT returns. of work, Charlie enjoys film, filmmaking, and dining out with friends.

Personal Tax Assistant

Hanna joined Hogbens Dunphy in 2022 and is ATT qualified. She is currently preparing to undertake exams to become an Enrolled Agent (US Tax Laws), supported through the firm’s internal training programme. Hanna works closely with Raj, assisting in the preparation of Personal Tax Returns and supporting clients with a range of personal tax matters. Outside of work, she enjoys drawing, travelling and dining out with friends.

Callum joined Hogbens Dunphy in 2019 and is a valued member of the Accounts team. He is certified in both Xero and QuickBooks and is currently pursuing his AAT qualification through the firm’s internal training programme. Outside of work, Callum enjoys detailing cars and taking long walks with his dog.

Vania joined Hogbens Dunphy in 2022, and she is currently an Accounts Assistant. Vania assists clients with VAT Returns and Sole Trader accounts. She is currently working towards completing her ACCA qualification via Hogben Dunphy’s training agreement. In her free time, she enjoys travelling, going to the cinema and art galleries, and spending time with family and friends.
